If you’ve read My Free Guide on How to Get Started Making Money Online, then you already should know that if you really want to start making money online, you need your own website to place the affiliate links, advertisements, and so on that will produce money for you. I’ve also told you that the most important part of a website is its design. A great looking website will bring in more traffic, keep your readers coming back, and ultimately make you more money.
So what if you know nothing about website design? Never fear, today it is easier than ever to make a beautiful looking site with absolutely no design experience. Even better, by using some sophisticated free software, the content on your site can automatically be Search Engine Optimized and start to bring in the best kind of traffic (the free kind) to your site! All you have to do is post quality content written in plain English on a regular basis.
So what is this sophisticated and free software I’m talking about? You may be suprised when I tell you it is the ever popular blogging and content management system known as Wordpress! Yep, the same software that powers LCOnline1.com! And what about the design you see here on LCOnline? I know a bit about design but I didn’t create what you see here. The wordpress theme you see here is Thesis and was created by DIY Themes.
Thesis boasts the strongest SEO of any theme on the market today thanks to its expertly-coded HTML + CSS + PHP framework. The days of worrying about your in-site SEO are over—with Thesis, your strategy is “just add content & links.” If you are seriously ready to start making money online, a tool like Thesis is a must.

My eBay Classified Ad to promote the Getting Started Guide has just renewed for another 30 days. I shared the results for the previous 30 day period so here is an update.
Visits - 897 - An additional 485 from the last update Watchers - 18 - An additional 7 from the last update Incoming Traffic to LCOnline1.com from the ad - 302 - During this 30 day period.
Again, I was pleased with the results from this ad and therefore decided to let it renew again. I’ll continue to monitor the ad and give you and update when the 3rd 30 day period ends. You can view the ad here if you’d like. Watches are appreciated:)
Great News! Clickbank announced today on their blog the addition of direct deposit for affiliate comissions and sales. As long as I have used Clickbank they have sent out paper checks on the 15th and 30th of each month.
It wasn’t a major hassle to run my checks by the bank but the addition of direct deposit as a option is something I’m happy to see. I already have direct deposit from commission junction so now the majority of my affiliate income will simply be automatically deposited into my checking account twice a month. Now I just need to work on getting those deposits large enough so that I can stay at home and do this fulltime!
If you’d like to know more about Clickbank and Commission Junction and find out how you can start making money online through affiliate marketing, be sure to check out my Free Getting Started Guide here on LCOnline1.com.
My last couple posts have been about how I’ve added some style coding to a few of my webpages to dress them up a bit. I received a question from a reader today asking how I was doing this so I decided to put together a short guide. The guide gives a little more explanation, shows some examples, and gives you some sample code you can use to work on your own styles. So if you are looking to learn a little more about using style sheets in your webpages, you can read my latest guide How to add style to your website.
I like the idea of writting short guides to answer questions because I think that examples really help answer the questions better. If there is a topic you’d like to see me write a guide about, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do.
After I added some custom styles to my eBay About Me page the other day, I decided that the same styles would also look nice on the Free Getting Started Guide.
I spent a few hours this evening apply the same styles which really ads to the guide in my humble opinion. I also did a couple revisions, the main one being an example of one way a complete newbie can use the information in the guide to make $100 in a single evening.
Today my project was to revise my eBay About Me page. Although I haven’t sold an eBook since the new eBay policy on digital items went into effect at the end of March, I’m still getting a decent amount of traffic to my About Me page. So I decided to try and make the page look a little more professional. I used the same styles you see here on my blog which include:
The H3 Heading
Drop Caps
The note box
and
The alert box
The goal was to create a great looking page with highly scannable content that hopefully will encourage visitors to click on one of the links that will lead them to this site. The design and look of a page is just as important if not more important than the content it contains. One of the best peices of advice I can give you is to take a couple minutes to learn about CSS styles and how to incorporate them into your sites in order to create highly scannable content that will make your readers want to know more about what your offering.
The CSS code I inserted was only 13 lines long and came from the stylesheet that was included with this Wordpress theme. If you would like to know about CSS styling or need some sample code to get started with, just drop me a comment and I’ll be glad to help.
My Free Guide on How to Get Started Making Money Online has just
been updated.
The most significant change is that the guide is now published
on LCOnline1.com as a web page instead of in the ebook format.
I decided to make this change because the original ebook format
was in Windows .exe format and those of you who had MAC’s might
not have been able to view it.
This new format will also allow for much easier updates in the
future. I’ve also added an easy way for you to leave feedback
on the guide by telling me what you liked, disliked, or would
like to see more of. With you feedback, I truly believe this
guide can become a great resource for everyone looking to make
more money online.
If you aren’t currently earning money online, or are looking for
some new strategies to earn even more, come check out the updated
guide. Remember this guide is absolutely free!
You can access the free guide from the link on the right side of this page.
Help me improve the Free Getting Started Guide by reviewing it and letting me know what you liked, disliked, would like to see, or anything you can think of that might make the guide more helpful. I’ll incorporate your suggestions into the guide the next time it is updated. The goal is to make the guide as user friendly and easy to follow as possible. To leave a review just click on the comment button below. You can leave your name and email or do it annonymously. Please take just a second to answer the poll below if you haven’t already done so. With you feedback, I truly believe this guide can become a great resouce for everyone looking to make more money online.
My 30 day eBay Classified Ad to promote the Getting Started Guide finished the other day. Here are the results:
Visits - 412 Watchers - 11 Incoming Traffic to LCOnline1.com from the ad - 247
Overall I was pleased with my first classified ad to go the full 30 days so I’ve let it renew for another 30 days. I haven’t been running any PPC campaigns lately but I think the eBay Ad generated more targeted traffic at a cheaper price. One nice thing about the classified ads is that you can update them whenever you like. So now that my ad is out there, I can revise it anytime, adding new information when appropriate. I’ll keep on monitoring the ad and give you and update when the 2nd 30 day period ends. You can view the ad here if you’d like.
