Starting a blog to share the different strategies I use to earn money online is something I’ve had on my list of to do’s for awhile but kept putting it off because I didn’t really know much about them on how they worked but once I looked into it, I found it was really easy to get started. I’ve primarily use the support forums for the last couple years to interact with most of my customers and other eBay sellers but I think the blog format will make it a lot easier to do that now that I’ve taken the time to learn a bit about blogging and RSS. I’ll use this site to share some of the things I do online to make extra money and explain how they work. I’ll also keep you up to date on what’s happening on eBay and continue to share the same tips and tricks that I have found helpful in my eBay business. Basically this site is about sharing good information about how to make a little extra money online so that we can both work towards achieving our financial goals.

Sharing Information.

If you read the About Me section below you’ll find out that I’ve been making money online now for a couple years now. I’ve figured a lot through trial and error and studying others but I still have a lot to learn. I’ll blog about things I know and that I think are helpful but I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the readers of this blog which brings me too…

I’ve set up this blog so that it is really easy to leave comments. You just click on the “comments” link at the bottom of my post and fill in your name and your comment. More About Me

Now on to what you’ve really been wanting to read, (just kidding). Anyway, I grew up, went to college, live and work in the midwestern United States, in the state of Indiana where there are a lot cornfields and small towns but a nice place to call home. We have all four seasons here with the hot & humid 100+ degree days in the summer to the cold winters when we usually get several small snows. Spring is very nice and an Indiana fall is my favorite with just about perfect weather and all the trees changing colors.

I went to a small highschool and ran cross country and track and then off to college at Purdue University where I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Finance and then came back home to find a job. I found a good job that pays semi well and now live in a townhouse with my boyfriend of several years. I enjoy working in the real world (well sometimes anyway) but I truly want to be able to be a stay at home mom when the time comes to get married and start a family. Although my boyfriend has a good job, supporting a family on just one income would be extremely difficult in today’s world. So shortly after I began working, I realized that if I wanted to be able to stay home full time in a few years, I (we) would need another source of reliable monthly income. I turned to the internet and started searching for ways to make money. I found a lot of different websites and products that promised the world and was even sucked into a few of them only to find out that most of those get rich quick websites and products are a bunch of crap.

They’ll gladly take your money but then when you need some help or guidence, they are either no where to be found or they want to sell you something else. I finally came to the realization that I was going to have to figure out something on my own. So I began to search and eventually came across eBay after hearing stories about how people were making a lot of money selling all kinds of different things.

I tried to sell a few music CD’s and spent several hours preparing my listings and then submitted them, already couting the money that would be coming in. None of them sold though. Next I tried to sell my old printer from college. I started the auction at a penny and set shipping at an even $10. It did sell, but only for a penny, and because I neglected to do any research on the actual cost of shipping such an item, I actually lost money! “Hmm…this eBay thing might not be as easy as I thought,” I remember thinking. So I did a little more research and started looking for sellers who were actually making money on eBay, what they were selling, and then trying to figure out how they did it. Then I discovered an eBay powerseller who dealt exclusively in eBooks. I purchased one of their eBooks that explained the whole selling eBooks on eBay and websites thing. As I read the eBook, I decided this way the way to go. eBooks cost very little produce (a few hours if you write one yourself or a few dollars if you buy someone else’s work), cost nothing to ship or reproduce (once you have one good copy, you never have to worry about re-stocking), and the whole process can be automated from start to finish. With millions of worldwide eBay users, the amount of people you can reach and sell too is virtually unlimited and you can run an eBook business in a few minutes a day and from anywhere there is an internet connection which is pretty much anywhere these days. So at that point I decided a selling ebooks on eBay was what I needed to figure out how to do. In May of 2006 I began my eBay eBook career and after a lot of trial and error, found a way to make it work. I reached eBay Powerseller status in September of that year and haven’t looked back since!

eBay announced in late March that items that are delivered digitally would no longer be allowed to be sold on eBay effective March 31, 2008. This is a major blow to a lot of eBook Sellers, myself included, revenue streams. However, changes always bring new opportunities and there are still a lot of ways to make money online and I’ve some great ideas I want to put in place that should produce a lot of revenue. I’ll be working on these things over the next several months and sharing my results here on this blog. Back to me , I plan on working at least a couple more years but hopefully by that time I’ll be married, getting ready to start a family, and have enough saved back plus enough coming in to leave the day to day corporate rat race and stay at home.
